NATHA

Now in its 25th year, the U.S. OPEN Pheasant Championship is the largest event in tournament hunting. With over 900 entries annually, competitions take place in a variety of classes including the Professional Class, Open Class, Top Gun Class, and Puppy, Senior Dog, Women’s, Junior, Over 50, Over 60, Mixed Doubles Classes, as well as Amateur competition. The U.S. OPEN is held at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club in Prior Lake, Minnesota, just south of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The event takes place over a four-day period beginning on a Thursday and ending on a Sunday.

The event will also include the U.S. OPEN Top Dog Showdown, which will take place on the Monday following the U.S. OPEN. This event will include 6 pointing dogs and 6 flushing dogs in a one run showdown to determine the Top Dogs of the Professional Classes for 2009. The six entries will include the first and second place winners of the 2009 U.S. OPEN (if they have competed in at least five NATHA events) and the top four point getters from the entire NATHA season of 2009-2010.

The 2010 U.S. Open Pheasant Championship will be held on April 8, 2010 to April 11, 2010 at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club. The Top Dog Showdown takes place on April 12, 2010. Please note, however, that these dates are subject to change.
