Youth Hunting Club of Minnesota

The next generation of hunters!

Hunting For The Next Generation

You’ll experience the use of shotguns, rifles, and pistols, with opportunities for both instruction and practice.

You’ll learn to scout, have a demonstration in dog training/handling and learn to identify various types of cover and vegetation.

You’ll be taught firearm safety standards, techniques and practices, as well as, nonmenclature and proper gun cleaning techniques. You’ll experience walking in a swamp, setting duck and goose decoys, and tree climbing to set up a deer stand.

Towards the end of your experience, you’ll take part in a real bird hunt and learn to shoot, clean and cook the birds.

Maybe most important of all, you’ll make new friends, gain confidence in your outdoor abilities and learn the respect for wildlife and nature that hunters share worldwide.

Since 1986

The youth of today represent the future of hunting in the USA. Since 1986 the Youth Hunting Club of Minnesota has been creating and offering hunting camps on the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club property in Prior Lake, MN. One of the oldest youth hunting programs in the country, the Youth Hunting Club of Minnesota is for boys and girls, 12-16 years old.

Each session begins on a Sunday afternoon and ends on Friday afternoon. The sessions are action-packed, fun, educational and exciting.

This is much more than a traditional firearms safety course – this is an immersion into shooting, hunting, and the great outdoors!

No Youngster Turned Away

Due to our year-long fundraising efforts, nearly all the kids attend this camp at no cost! Naturally we encourage families who can afford to pay to do so, but no youngster will be turned away because of financial hardship. Special thanks goes out to our regular donors and sponsors.

The Youth Hunting Club of Minnesota is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and not part of the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club.   The Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club does not fund or operate this program.  The affiliation and partnership with the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club is because the Youth Hunting Club of Minnesota’s Executive Director is also one of the owners of the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club.
